Program Overview

The UCV-COIL Program (Collaborative Online International Learning) is an internationalization initiative of the University of Cagayan Valley (UCV) that connects students and faculty with partner universities through virtual learning activities.

It allows students to work with peers from other countries without leaving their classrooms.

The program responds to common barriers in student exchange programs such as cost, travel, and logistics. Instead of physical mobility, UCV uses a virtual model known as internationalization at-home.

Through this approach, students and teachers collaborate on:

Shared academic tasks

Group projects across countries

Intercultural learning activities within their subjects

UCV implements this program in partnership with the Higher Education International Relations Officers Association (HEIROA) Region II.

Global Learning Experience

The program connects UCV with institutions in:

Students participate in real-time discussions, group work, and cross-cultural exchange activities. These experiences turn online classrooms into global learning spaces.

Duration and Status

The program officially started on February 23–24, 2026 and is ongoing.

The first COIL series ran from April 13–24, 2026, featuring a 10-day international virtual masterclass titled: “The Essence of Experience: A Masterclass in Colaizzi’s Phenomenological Method.”

More COIL activities are planned in the following months.
