The University of Cagayan Valley continues to strengthen its reputation in higher education innovation after receiving multiple recognitions in the WURI 2026 or World University Rankings for Innovation.
These recognitions highlight the university’s commitment to future-ready education, sustainability, ethical leadership, technology integration, and impactful research and extension programs that benefit students and communities.
The university’s WURI 2026 submissions were led by the Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President for Research, Planning and Development, and Extension (OVPRPDE).

Sustainability and Environmental Innovation
One recognized initiative was Beyond Paper, a project that converts wastepaper into reusable and sustainable materials. The program promotes environmental responsibility while helping students apply engineering and research skills to real world challenges.
Another recognized initiative focused on sustainable development initiatives through a typhoon-resistant vertical farming project. The initiative supports climate resilient agriculture and helps address food security challenges in vulnerable communities.
