Through the Human Resource Development Office (HRDO), the university provides training, seminars, scholarships, and professional development opportunities that help employees build new skills, advance their careers, and better serve the UCV community.

In-House Training Programs

The Human Resource Development Office organizes training activities throughout the year based on the University’s Training Needs Assessment (TNA). A Training Needs Assessment is a process used to identify the knowledge and skills employees need to perform their jobs more effectively.

External Training Opportunities

UCV also supports employee participation in seminars, workshops, conferences, and other professional development programs offered by external organizations.

Participation is subject to university approval and depends on the employee’s role, institutional priorities, and available resources.

Scholarship and Educational Assistance

UCV provides educational assistance to support employees who wish to continue their studies while pursuing their careers.

Scholarship Grants

Qualified employees may receive scholarship assistance to pursue further studies at the University of Cagayan Valley or another recognized college or university, subject to university policies and applicable agreements.

Tuition Fee Discounts

Qualified employees may receive tuition assistance when studying at UCV.

Available benefits include:

  • A 50% tuition fee discount without a return service requirement
  • An additional 50% tuition fee discount with a return service agreement
  • A full scholarship benefit for one immediate family member after twenty (20) years of qualified service, subject to the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)

Thesis and Dissertation Assistance

Employees pursuing graduate studies may qualify for financial assistance for thesis or dissertation expenses.
Eligibility requirements, funding, return service obligations, and other conditions are governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
